Located in the very heart of Paris, the Arc de Triomphe towers majestically above the Place de l'Etoile and leads onto the bright lights of the Champs Elysees and surrounding avenues which house Paris' famous fashion boutiques, galleries and fine restaurants. The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe and therefore offers easy walking access to a wealth of shops, restaurants ( many open till after midnight ) and theatres.
The Argentine is a fabulous location for accessing all Paris attractions. Away from the hustle and bustle, the rue d'Argentine is an oasis of tranquility situated off the Place de l'Etoile and the Avenue Foch. There beneath the patina of a bas relief commemorating the time when South America's high society occupied this prestigious quarter, the Argentine opens it's doors fully refurbished and decorated in the spirit of a distinguished town house. A true boutique hotel. It's intimate and refined character may be appreciated as soon as you enter the lobby and the adjoining salon whose quiet atmosphere invites you to relax.
The 40 well equiped bedrooms, decorated in the Chambres d'Amis style will satify any guest. Features include marble bathroom with hairdryer, comfortable desk, mini-bar ( no alcohol ), direct dial telephone, cable television and room safe. The cosy breakfast room offers a buffet from 7 am onwards. Room service is available until 11 pm nightly.
We found this hotel to be in an ideal location for the tourist and business traveller alike. The proximaty to the RER and Metro allows fast travel throughout Paris, in fact Disney is only a 50 minute trip away. Within 100 metres of the hotel are good local brasseries offering quality bistro food at non-tourist prices. Unlike many areas, the restaurants of the Champs Elysees are open till well after midnight and offer many regional and international dishes, these are easily accessible by foot. For the serious shopper, there are even shops open till midnight !
The only downside to the Argentine is the alcohol free situation caused by the unusual French licencing laws. The hotel can not supply any type of alcohol however, guests are allowed to bring in their own from local shops. The hotel discourages children from staying. In conclusion, a good all round hotel with very friendly staff....recommended highly.
